We’ll check your maximum speeds later
At some addresses, we’re unable to check the maximum speeds at your address until you’re connected. While we don’t have the information at this stage, we’ll notify you of your maximum download and upload speeds once you’re on your new plan.
If the maximum speed at your address is below the maximum speed of the plan you’ve chosen, we will advise you of the options available to you which may include (i) remaining on your current plan; (ii) moving to a lower priced plan (if one is available); (iii) cancelling your plan at no cost (not available to upgrading customers). If your options include changing or cancelling your plan, you’ll receive a proportionate refund for the period you didn’t receive the full benefit of your chosen plan.
Maximum speeds at your address

  • Upload speed
    0000 - 0000  Mbps
What are my maximum speeds?

The maximum speed ranges are determined by the technology nbn co makes available at your business, and are the best estimate we can make of the fastest possible speeds of your connection, based on the information available. The speeds you’ll experience will usually be slower, particularly during busy periods, and may be impacted by things like your in-premises set up and wiring. We’ll use the latest information when you’re on your new plan to confirm the maximum speeds at your address.

When choosing a plan, you’ll see how the maximum speeds at your address relate to your plan options. This is important because you will not be able to experience the typical or maximum speeds of a plan if the speeds available at your address are lower.

These maximum speeds at your address shown here and in your plan options are for the existing line at the address only. If you need an additional service, we’ll notify you of the maximum and download and upload speeds of the additional line once it's connected. Do I need an additional service?

Frequently asked questions

If you have an nbn connection, yes you can cancel. The nbn satisfaction guarantee is our promise to you that if you're not happy within 30 days of connection and if we can't fix it for you, you can cancel with no further charges. Just return your modem. Read our nbn® satisfaction guarantee.

We recommend not cancelling your existing internet service while you try 5G Business Internet, to make sure it’s right for you.

If you haven’t cancelled your existing internet service, you can simply cancel the 5G business service and return the 5G modem to us in good working order.

The 5G Business Internet plan does not support a landline or fixed phone line service. All our nbn plans include a landline at no extra cost.

If you want a landline handset you can buy, you can buy one from Telstra. If you just want a home phone line, you can take up a Telstra office phone plan.

  1. If the nbn network isn’t already at your address, once you place an order with us we’ll help you arrange an nbn installation appointment. This is so an nbn co technician can connect the nbn to your address.
  2. If you’re a new customer you’ll receive a new Telstra Smart Modem. If you’re already with us, we’ll check your existing modem and if it isn’t compatible with nbn, we’ll send you the new smart modem.
  3. You can install the Telstra Smart Modem yourself using the easy self-install kit included. Or get our tech experts to help you for a one-off fee.
  4. Jump on the nbn and go!

Self install your modem for $0

We’ll send you a new modem if you need it, with easy instructions to install it yourself.

Professional install

You can get your modem and gear connected by a Telstra professional technician for a one-off fee of $299.

Additional costs apply for non-standard installations if you have complex cabling requirements.

New Development Charge

If you’re in a new development without existing phone or internet infrastructure, nbn co may impose a $300 New Development Charge (NDC) to connect you to the nbn network. This includes new lots, subdivisions, and granny flats with a separate address from the primary residence.  If applicable, we will bill that charge to you, and we will let you know at the time of confirming your order and you will have the option to cancel.

Additional costs may apply for non-standard or professional installation of Telstra or nbn co equipment and for premises in new developments. Once you are connected to nbn fibre, you won’t be able to move to our copper network.

Set up is super easy. The advanced 5G modem connects wirelessly to the Telstra 5G mobile network so there are no ethernet cables. Just plug it in where you get the strongest 5G signal on your premises, as close to a window as possible. A strong signal will be indicated by a green light on your modem. The 5G modem will then connect with your devices via Wi-Fi.

You can use the modem placement tool in the My Telstra app to help find a strong signal.

We’re expanding our 5G Business Internet footprint all the time, so keep returning to this page to check if your address becomes eligible.

You could, but it’s unlikely. 1 terabyte (TB) is a thousand gigabytes (GB) of data.

To give you an idea, we estimate that you could do all of the following activities and still use less than 1TB in a month:

  • Send and receive 40,000 emails
  • Use the internet for 2,000 hours
  • Stream high-definition videos for 365 hours or 171 hours for 4K video
  • Post to social media for 5,600 hours.

What happens if I do go over the 1TB allowance?

You won't be charged, but your speed will be slowed to 25Mbps. To help you manage your usage, we let you know when you've hit 50, 85 and 100% of your data.

You can check your usage within the My telstra App.

In the event of a fault on the nbn, the Telstra Smart Modem 3 will switch your service to the 4G mobile network automatically. The 4G mobile backup is uncapped and unshaped only on our business nbn plans, meaning there is no limit on data allowance or speed. It’ll help you stay connected during the outage no matter how much data is used without having to worry about additional charges. We'll switch your service back to the nbn when the fault is resolved. 4G coverage required.

Things you need to know

Important

An nbn service can never go faster than the maximum line speed available at your premises, so for FTTN/B/C customers we will confirm your maximum attainable speed after connection and let you know if your line is not able to achieve the maximum speed of your plan.

The nbn™ tier figures represent wholesale maximum network speeds during off-peak periods. The nbn™  tier figures and ‘typical busy period speeds’ are not measures of customers’ actual in-premises speeds, which may be slower. Not all customers receive these speeds. In some cases, the nbn™ tier figures and the typical busy period speeds are similar. Find out more about speeds on the nbn network with Telstra

Plan prices

Your plan and add-ons may change (including price and inclusions). If you don’t like a change, you can change your plan or cancel your plan or add-ons.  If you cancel, just pay out your device, accessories and services in full, and you will receive a pro-rata refund for your plan charge for the remainder of your month.

Speed Add-ons

Typical busy period speeds for the new nbn tiers Superfast and Ultrafast are an estimate only. We do not have sufficient data yet to calculate the typical busy period speed of these add-ons. Actual speeds experienced may be lower due to various factors including in-home setup and wiring, For ordinary personal domestic use. For important information on speeds see nbn key facts sheet (PDF, 81KB)

  • Speed: 5G Business Internet has average download speed of 300Mbps (9am to 5pm). The service has a typical download speed range of 30-600Mbps (9am to 5pm). Speeds will change over time.
  • Average and typical speeds may be slower over WiFi connection and can be impacted by factors such as the distance from the serving 5G mobile tower, number of users online, where your modem is located and how far you are from it, and whether there are obstructions between your modem and the 5G mobile tower.
  • Average and typical speeds are into-the-premise speeds measured at the modem. Speeds over Wi-Fi may be slower. Download speeds were measured at the in-premise modem during the busy evening period between 9am-5pm weekdays over a representative time period, typically ranging between 30Mbps and 600Mbps and upload speeds typically ranging between 5Mbps to 70Mbps. Once you exceed your included data allowance, your speed will be capped at 25Mbps, and slowed further in busy periods until your next billing month. There is no option to top up your data or move to a higher data plan.
  • If you cancel your plan in the first 24 months your modem must be returned via our eParcel service (we will provide details in an email to you once you cancel) in good working order within 21 days of cancellation or a $400 non-return fee will apply.
