Telstra's Next G™ network is the largest third generation network in Australia, at more than 100 times the size of any other Australian 3G network.

This means we are bringing 3G services to more Australians than ever before, and to many of you for the first time. And we're not stopping there. Over time, we will continue to expand Next G coverage. When completed, the Next G network will provide coverage to more Australians than any other mobile network. This new network will provide Australians with the latest in mobile technology, supporting the ability to make and receive video calls, watch Mobile FOXTEL from Telstra, access the internet, receive emails and download music.

The Next G network utilises the 3GSM standard on the 850Mhz frequency band, and covers 99 per cent of the Australian population. It brings an exciting and growing range of products and services that will give Australians more ways to do more things, at faster speeds and in far more places than ever before.

The network will not only support services such as video calling and Video MessageBank®, but also high speed wireless broadband access. Additionally, global roaming to a large number of overseas countries is possible.

This means all our mobile customers, city or country, who purchase a mobile phone for use on Next G network, will have access to both traditional mobile phone calls or the new video calling and entertainment services.
