Telstra Tower

One of Canberra's most iconic landmarks

Our much-loved telecommunications tower is closed for renovations until March 2026.

We're not taking light up requests right now

That's because we're busy working through our refurbishment plans for Telstra Tower. It also means we cannot accept light up requests or conduct tours at the moment.

Telstra Tower continues to act as a networking facility, hosting both Telstra and various other carriers and radio/TV broadcasters.

What is Telstra Tower?

Telstra Tower is a telecommunication tower rising 195.2 metres above the summit of Black Mountain in Australia's capital city.

Beloved as one of Canberra's most visited tourist attractions, it offers panoramic views of the city and surrounding countryside.

Telstra acknowledges the Ngunnawal people as the Traditional Custodians of this place we now call Canberra. We also acknowledge this region as a significant and important meeting place to other Aboriginal People.

Lighting up the tower from March 2026

When we reopen, the Tower will continue to operate its state-of-the-art lighting system so it can be lit up in various colours. Please watch this space for an announcement in March 2026, when once again start accepting requests from different organisations, including charities, embassies and corporations across Australia.
