The pricing set out in these pages only applies if you have an existing Telstra Internet Direct service as at 30 June 2003 on standard pricing, and you have not elected to migrate to the new pricing contained in the Telstra Internet Direct section of Our Customer Terms (PDF, 282KB). Standard Monthly Charges
Option 1 Pricing - usage based
As a Telstra Internet Direct customer, you pay a Usage Charge based on the amount of traffic received as follows:

PLEASE NOTE
- Telstra Internet Direct defines a megabyte as one million (1,000,000) bytes.
- The $22.00 (inclusive of GST) minimum charge is applied if Option 1 pricing is selected. If your Usage Charge for a given month on each connection you have is equal to, or higher than $22.00 (inclusive of GST), the fee is not charged. If the Usage Charge for a given month on any connection you have is less than $22.00 (inclusive of GST), then the invoice for that connection will be for $22.00 (inclusive of GST) only.
- ISDN Access is only available up to 256Kbps. ISDN access of 128Kbps and above requires the use of Multilink PPP.
- Utilisation is the total number of megabytes received as a percentage of the theoretical maximum number of megabytes that could have been received during the billing period, based on your access speed.
The following calculation is used to calculate utilisation:

For example:
to calculate the utilisation for a customer who received 6,507 Megabytes over a 64kbps ISDN line, the following calculation would be used.

| 8,000 x 60 x 60 | = 28,800,000 bytes per hour |
| 28,800,000 x 24 | = 691,200,000 bytes per day |
| 691,200,000 x 31 | = 21,427,200,000 bytes per month |
| 21,427,200,000/1,000,000 | = 21,427.2 Megabytes (maximum amount of data receivable over the line in one month) |
| (6,507/21,427.2) x 100 | = 30% utilisation |
ADSL Monthly Charges
Metered Pricing - usage based
Metered pricing is made up of two components:
- A Usage Charge per megabyte of traffic downloaded; and
- A Minimum Monthly Usage Charge

- A fixed Monthly plan charge which incorporates a fixed Usage allowance per Month; and
- A Usage Charge per megabyte applies if the fixed Monthly Usage allowance is exceeded

* The Proxy Cache rate is only available to Single-homed Customers who attach to the Internet Direct Proxy Cache in relation to web and ftp traffic only which is served via the Internet Direct Proxy Cache.
