BigPond Ultimate Cable Home Network Gateway
The BigPond Ultimate Cable Home Network Gateway enables customers to share their super-fast internet connection throughout the home
An Ultimate Cable Home Network Gateway is required to access the BigPond Ultimate Cable plans.
If, at a later stage you choose to downgrade from a Cable Ultimate plan to a BigPond Elite® plan, you can continue to use this Gateway.
BigPond Ultimate Cable is only available to customers in the Cable footprint with a 13-digit account number.
Each computer must meet minimum system requirements.
BigPond Broadband Benefit You must have a Telstra full service fixed phone on a Single Bill with your broadband service on a 24 month plan. Existing customers may need to recontract to access this pricing.
BigPond Ultimate Cable plans can provide download speeds of up to a maximum of 100 Mbps into the home for sharing across multiple users in a household. These speeds are so fast that they exceed the capabilities of many content servers and individual PCs. Average download speeds will be lower and actual download speeds a single user will get will vary due to a number of factors including customer hardware, equipment and software, server limitations, type of content being accessed and the number of users online.

If your BigPond service is cancelled, a cancellation fee of no more than $360 applies.
For example, a BigPond customer who cancels their service with nine months left on their 24-month plan may have to pay a cancellation fee of $360 x 9/24 (where nine is the number of months left to run on the contract, divided by 24 months) = $135.
Reconnection fees
There is a standard $59 fee to reconnect your BigPond service if it is disconnected (for example if you are moving house or if you are disconnected for non-payment). If the cabling on your existing connection requires more than 15 minutes work to restore, you will also be charged for the extra work- $30 per 15 minutes, or part thereof.
The total fee for a reconnection (including the $59 fee and any service charges) will not exceed your initial installation fee.
If you choose our self-install option but then find you need a BigPond technician to assist, you may be charged an additional $189 for the service call.

For ADSL customers, please make sure your modem is on the Telstra's approved modem list. We offer only limited technical support for BYO modem members as our services focus on our own BigPond-supplied modems. Self installing your BigPond Mobile® Wi-Fi 4G is easy. To get up and running, simply follow the instructions in the Quick Start Guide included with your device. Remember for initial activation you will need a laptop or Desktop with Windows 7® (32/64-bit), Windows Vista® (SP2, 32/64-bit), XP (SP3, Media Centre Editions, 32/64-bit) or Mac OS X 10.5.8 and above.
Is professional installation an option?
Professional installation is not available for BigPond Mobile Broadband because it's just so easy to set-up. Our plug and play devices will take care of you every step of the way - all you need to do is connect the Wi-Fi Device or USB to your computer.
That doesn't mean you're on your own though. If you run into trouble please call BigPond Technical Support.

Rapid Transfer means you can quickly and easily move your ADSL service between participating service providers, without needing to disconnect and reconnect your broadband service.

For superfast broadband, ADSL2+ offers download speeds of up to a maximum of 20Mbps1 ADSL2+ is currently available in all major cities and many other major regional centres.
No extra cables
Because ADSL technology shares your existing telephone lines, there's no need to have extra cables or external equipment installed into your property. That means getting ADSL can be simple, quick and easy.
