Telstra has many options to help you keep in touch while travelling overseas. For instance Telstra Mobile International Roaming allows customers with International Roaming enabled on their mobile service to continue to use their mobile phone when travelling overseas. Global and Satellite calls
Calls to and from Optus MobileSat services and calls to Inmarsat, Thuraya and Iridium global and satellite services are charged at the rates set out in the Calling Cards Section of Our Customer Terms (available for inspection at most Telstra Shops) plus a 49c call connection fee.
Voicemail
Voicemail messages are charged 49c per message retrieved, plus any applicable call charges.

Calls between
overseas countries
This facility enables you to make calls between various international destinations. These calls come via Australia and you will be charged for both legs of the call – from the country you are calling from to Australia, then from Australia to the final destination.
For example, if you are calling from the UK to USA, you will be charged for the following:
- Call connection fee (excl. GST) – $0.4455
- Per minute rate from UK to Australia (excl. GST) – $0.45
- Per minute rate from Australia to US (excl. GST) – $0.19

A call connection fee of 49 cents applies for calls made within and from Australia. A call connection fee of 44.55 cents applies for calls made from outside Australia.
